I disagree with Tim Grahl about a lot of things and his definition of freedom as you describe it would be one of them.
I don’t think freedom is the desire for less responsibility but the desire to choose one’s responsibilities. As a retired person (will be 70 next week), I could have a life free from all responsibilities. I don’t have to work at anything. However, I have chosen to work part time (teaching at my local communityc college), while actively volunteering both at my church and in my neighborhood. And, of course, I have my writing. I could go sit on the beach, but that’s not what I’ve chosen!
I’ve been following you a long time and I suspect a lot of what drives you is also the freedom to chose the life you want.
